Understanding comes first. We often tend to consider that skin never changes and that the diagnosis we were given years ago remains as it is today. Far from reality. Let’s be very clear about what your skin type and skin condition are. The latter is often much more forgotten and rarely taken into account. But the truth is that it is super important to understand both concepts before choosing any cosmetic.
Our skin type is the one that describes our skin (dry skin, oily skin, combination skin, or resilient skin), we will hardly go from one type to another, only when the skin begins to age it can become dry because with skin ageing we are losing lipids.
On the other hand, the state of our skin is determined by the added conditions that our skin presents at this exact moment. Unlike skin type, our skin condition can vary considerably over the course of our lives due to internal and external factors such as climate and pollution, stress, drugs, hereditary genetic factors and of course also by the cosmetics we use. This explains why oily skin can be dehydrated, or why combination skins can be sensitive as well. That is why it is important to diagnose the state of our skin and build a routine according to the needs that our skin has at this time, so we can improve the state and appearance of our skin.
